A day at Magic Kingdom!
Barn Quilt Square – Completed!
It took a while to get this thing done and hung up on the wall but here it is!
I love how it turned out! The lines are really crisp, and the trim finishes it out nicely.
Here you can see how the trim of the picture matches the trim around the house. It doesn’t look very big hanging on the wall, but it is pretty huge.

Barn Square
Today (my day off work!) I’m attempting to paint a barn square for my living room.
I picked out the design that I wanted by coloring a few different pictures.
Earlier last week I bought my board, paint and gathered up all the brushes and tape. I’ve never painted a barn square before, but I felt pretty good after drawing the pictures.
So I taped out lines, deciding to paint the outside edge first – and the first attempt ended up like this…
Attempt number two I decided to paint the inside design first, it worked out a little bit better
And the first paint went in!
Now I’m waiting for it to dry, and figuring out how to get the next set of lines in!
Scanning Photos
I’m sure all scrapbookers feel this at one time or another – There are so many pictures you’ll never catch up. When my grandmother died we uncovered boxes of prints, manilla envelopes with no date stuffed full, and even random photos stuck between unfinished scrapbook pages. I sorted through the pictures that were of me and my family and took them home with me to organize. I guessed my age, since the photos weren’t dated, and did my best to put them in chronological order. They may never see a scrapbook page, but seeing them sorted into boxes was comforting.
But these photos are all prints… And so I’ve started the [large] project of scanning these photos. This has been something I’ve worried about for years; losing hard copies of old pictures. Like my parents wedding photos, my brothers baby pictures, and Sturgis ’93.
Both Cheeto and I were very excited when the scanner arrived
So we set up a little station in the craft room
And started with the first print I saw
I won’t even count how many more there are to go….
