Ashlynn’s Baby Afghan

I thought my [almost] new computer had broken last week when the screen wouldn’t turn on. I was terrified because all my pictures are saved on that hard drive. Luckily my awesome J called tech support and got it working again.

On that computer I found this! The first baby afghan I made [2011]. I really liked crocheting all the tiny granny squares… and really hated putting them together to make the blanket. My mom ended up stitching it together for me because I wasn’t quite sure what I was doing.

I do love the end product though!

Joey’s Graduation

Today Joey is graduating from college! What’s even more impressive is that he got a job and is starting it on Monday! How crazy is that.

I made him a card and money jar. Here is what the jar looked like before:

Graduation Jar Before

I wrapped it in paper and put a graduation cap on top of it to make it look cute. The cap is a thick piece of black foam I had with paper put on top of it. That way the brad holding the tassel didn’t go all the way through. J spray painted the lid for me, it was silver. Then I wrapped up money like diplomas in ribbon and put them inside.

Infinity Scarf

I was thinking about saving this gift for Mother’s Day, but I couldn’t help while my mom was down visiting giving her this. Now I obviously don’t look at cute as she does wearing this, but it needed to be on for the full effect.

Here’s a close up of the stitch, pattern found here. I used a really fluffy yarn so the stitch isn’t too clear, but it actually worked perfect. The pattern was easy to manage with such a heavy yarn.

Flower Hot Pads

Now that I have given these away I can share them with everyone. I made these cute flower hot pads with my mom in mind. She sets her flat iron on a hot pad to keep from burning the counter top, so I thought these would look cute on her vanity.

Blue Baby Blanket

I’ve just been on a roll lately with my crocheting! After I finished my pink baby blanket I decided to make a blue one too.

Blue Baby Blanket with Hood

I happen to love this blanket because it has a hood attached to it!

3 Snow Days!

We ended up having 3 days of bad weather and couldn’t go to work at all! It was wonderful to sit at home and do nothing but watch all 6 star wars movies; which was actually my idea. I really wanted to see them all because I’d never seen the new ones. After we finished, I could have done without, the original Star Wars is so much better!

I also got a little crafting done.

Homemade Jewelry

You know jewelry is one of those words I often misspell and have to double check before I publish? (Although misspell just looked wrong to me too, so maybe I just have a spelling issue)

My mom bought a bunch of beads for us to craft with at Christmas time and we never got around to it, so I made some jewelry to send to her. This is my first attempt at making jewelry.

S&J Wreath

I used my Cricut to cut out the “S&J”, attached them to a garage sale find wreath, and some left over wedding flowers.

Pink Baby Blanket

Recently we’ve done a lot of traveling by car. First to San Antonio, TX and then to Seward, NE. The good thing about all that driving is that I made this:

I haven’t done much crocheting in awhile, so it was nice to finish a fun project.
